Nupi Lan observed all over Manipur and beyond

Apunba Meira Paibi Lup, Hojai organised a Nupi Lan observation ceremony today at Thoirenkhun, Lanka.
Apunba Manipur Kanba Ima Lup president Phan-joubam Sakhi, Apunba Meira Paibi Lup, Hojai president Th Thoibi, United Committee Manipur IPR secretary Ng Deba, UCM accounts secretary RK Mangisana and Nupi Samaj vice president Ch Jamini graced the observation event as functional chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
A public gathering was also held during the memorial ceremony.
Prior to the public gathering, floral tributes were paid in honour of those women who laid down their lives in the first and second Nupi Lan (women's war).
The gathering resolved to observe the next Nupi Lan Memorial Day (December 12, 2015) at Nandapur.
Kha-Nongpok Apunba Nupi Lup Moreh, Nupi Khunai Chaokhat Lamjing Lup, Muslim Women Development Association Moreh, Moreh Minority Women Development Society today organised a programme to commemorate the 75th Nupi Lan at Ima Kondong Lairembi Haraobung, Moreh.
The programme was attended by Th Ibemhal Leima, president, Kha-Nongpok Apunba Nupi Lup, Moreh, Th Jamuna Devi, president, Nupi Khunai Chaokhat Lamjing Lup, Moreh, Jubeda Begum, president, Muslim Women Development Association, Moreh, Nurabanu, vice-president, Minority Women Development Society, Moreh as the presidium members.
Other dignitaries present during the programme were M Thoiba Singh, president, Meetei Council, Moreh, O Lukhoi Singh, vice-president, All Community Development Organisation, Moreh, Md Hussain, president, Manipuri Muslim Council, Moreh, Y Jotila Leima, advisor, Nupi Khunai Chaokhat Lamjing Lup, Moreh, N Nabakumar Meitei, president, All Manipur Students' Union, Chandel district Committee Moreh.
BJP Mahila Morcha also observed Nupi Lan today at BJP head office, Nityaipat Chuthek.
The programme was attended by BJP State President Th Chaoba Singh, Mahila Morcha president N Ibemcha and BJP State vice-president S Satyabhama and BJP National executive Sarda Devi as the chief guest, president and guests of honour respectively.
Khurai Block Congress Committee (BCC) held a blood donation camp for women at Khurai Lai Khurembi Haraobung as a part of the Nupi Lan observation today.
Led by Manipur Pollution Control Board chairman MLA Dr Ng Bijoy, the blood donation camp, organised by Department of Immunohaematology and Blood Transfusion, RIMS in association with Khurai BCC, was held under the sponsorship of Manipur State AIDS Control Society.
In total 70 women donated blood in the blood donation camp today.
Khurai BCC president K Sanajaoba, speaking at the sideline of the camp, said the camp was organised chiefly to honour the sacrifices made by in the Nupi Lans against the autocratic policies of the British in 1904 and 1939 .
