IMPHAL, Dec 28 : Mincing no words, the commander of Operation New Kangleipak of KYKL has today asked the Education Minister and the Education Commissioner to furnish details such as the marks secured at the graduation level, the marks obtained at the written test as well as the marks scored at the interview of the recently announced DPC result to recruit graduate teachers within five days time.
If the details are not furnished then harsh punishment would be given, warned the outfit.
Making its intention known, the ONK commander in a statement today said that it had earlier asked that the mentioned details be announced through the newspapers on October 31.However this has not been done, said the statement and added that on the contrary, the Education Minister and Education Commissioner tried to fool the public by spreading canards about ONK.
Out of the 663 teachers selected, only about 40 were declared successful without greasing palms.
The others were selected through corruption said the statement and added that the teachers were selected on the basis of the share of the Chief Minister, share of the Education Minister, share of the Education Commissioner and share of the Education Director.
To fool the public, the Education Minister and Commissioner spread the words that the test was conducted in a free and fair manner and this was the general impression given to the public.
On the other hand the ONK was blamed for interfering in the process of selecting the teachers, said the statement and questioned the personal motive of the Education Minister.
The primary objective of the ONK is to ensure a corruption free education system and it will never interfere in the process of selecting teachers, asserted the statement.
Asking that details such as marks scored by the candidates at the graduation level, written test as well as in the interview should be made public for transparency within five days time, the outfit warned that if the deadline is not met then harsh punishment will be taken up against the Education Minister and the Education Commissioner.
