Imphal, December 28:
Accusing the State Government of ignoring the woes and distress of the Chandel district people, the Chandel Contractors' Association has today warned that it may be forced to launch a series of intense agitation if the State authorities decline to address the woes of the district.
In a statement, the Association said that despite the agitations and demands to release the fund for the improvement of the Pallel-Chandel road, nothing substantial has been done.
Despite the assurance given by the Chief Minister on October 10 that necessary work would be taken up to improve the said road, the fund for the same repairing work has not been released till date, charged the contractors' body while questioning why Chandel is being victimised.
Urging for the early release of the fund for the road improvement work, the Association warned that if their representation is not heeded, it would take up a series of agitation.
