Total bandh hits hard Tamenglong

Tamenglong, April 28 2013:
The prolong total bandh being imposed along NH 2 and NH-39 by All Zeliangrong Students Union (AZSU), Zeliangrong Youth Front (ZYF) and Zeliangrong Students Union, Manipur (ZSUM) over the Alice Kamei case has caused immense hardships to the people of Tamenglong.
When this reporter conducted a survey it is found that all the rice godowns of the shops selling rice have no more rice and diesel/Petrol in stock dried up.
Essential commodities like potatoes and onions were found in limited quantity.
With rice not available, some students were seen buying Ata/Moida from a shop.
The chicken and fish centre (shops) have also remained closed for the last few days.
Since the imposition of total bandh, inter- state bus, sumo and taxi services have also remained suspended and no goods have come from Imphal or Jiribam.
