The All Liangmei Naga Students Union (ALNSU) has said that there is no organisation or union leader called S Paul from Tamei.
Speaking to mediapersons at Keishampat, Nk Job, president, ALNSU said that the claim made by an alleged leader of Tamei AC S Paul in some local newspapers regarding distribution of rice illegally is false and misleading.
He clarified that the authorities concerned have not been able to supply rice to the people of Tamei AC due to the economic blockade and not because of any other unfair practices.
He said, "No one has sold off the rice.
The quota for Tamei is intact and will be distributed as soon as the economic blockade is lifted".
The agents distributing the rice under the National Food Security Act (NFSA) are also village chairmen and they also have their own association, he added.
He pointed out that the Union has also been keeping a strict watch on the distribution of rice.
Job said, "The accusations made against subcontractor Megha are baseless.
No one has been selling off the rice.
These accusations were aimed destroy his reputation" .
According to him, there was no Union or organisation leader called S Paul in Tamei A/C.He further urged the people of Tamei to freely approach the Union if they have any queries regarding the situation of rice distribution.
