Imphal, October 18 2013 :
The Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM) has strongly denounced the alleged indifferent attitude of the State Govt towards the demands of Kuki Inpi Saikul Gamkai (KISG) and Saikul Area Naga People Organization (SANPO) .
KIM General Secretary, Khaimang Chongloi said that as per provision of Indian Constitution under article 371(C) the State Government cannot take any decision without the concern of Hill Area Committee (HAC) on matter relating to hill areas.
However, the State Govt through a notification in June this year, included more than 120 villages of Saikul Gamkai under Senapati district and Ukhrul district to the police boundary/jurisdiction of Imphal East and Thoubal district respectively.
The notification should be immediately nullified as it was done without consulting HAC, the General Secretary if KIM demanded.
The Government should settle the matter immediately before public agitation is intensified, KIM demanded while adding that the Govt should be held responsible for the outcome of any public agitation.
