Seminar on Image of Manipur observed with Patriots Day

All Manipur Art and Culture Students' Union and Pangal Students' Organisation on Thursday observed the Patriots Day along with a seminar on 'Image of Manipur' at Classic Hotel, North AOC.
The observance sponsored by National and International Awardee and Social Activist CC Meetei was inaugurated with a duet patriotic song from Hamom Sadananda and Chitra while the attendants paid floral tribute to the photograph of Bir Tikendrajit and Thangal General with one minute silent observance.
Vice Chancellor of Manipur University NK Sharma, advisor of Manipur Students' Federation and Pangal Students' Organisation, Udoi Luwang and Social Activist, National and International Awardee CC Meetei attended the grace function as chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
While giving the key-note address, Professor of History, Department of Manipur University N Joykumar said that history helps a person know about the past and present while, at the same time, it can also help at directing about the future.
Every controversy in the world can only be ended by talks, so Manipuris need to produce someone, who can be in position for talks across the tables.
English language is not the priority, what matters is to know how to carry on the talk, to talk about our identity, added Joykumar.
Meanwhile, Manipuri Literary Society, Imphal also observed the Patriots Day at the hall of Manipuri Hindi Parishad, Imphal where 50 Manipuri poets, 25 women and 25 men, recited patriotic poems.
Assistant teacher of Sidilong High School Tamenglong, Kajing Ganglu Reimei, assistant teacher of Memorial Model Academy Yairipok Hussain Khullakpam, president of Manipuri Literary Society, Imphal Dr S Lanchenba Meetei and convener of Manipuri Literary Soceity, Imphal Khoisnam Inaobi also attended the grace function.
