The Leaders' Meet organized by North Imphal United Clubs and Meira paibees Organization (NIUCAMO) at the Court Room, Motbung Bazar today ended with call for unity among various groups of people living in the State.
The meeting attended by a large number of people was graced by chairman of Motbung Village Authority SL Lamthang and NIUCAMO president Angomcha Nandalal as chief guest and president respectively.
All those who spoke at the occasion stressed on the need for maintaining peace and unity among various groups of people have been living in Manipur sharing in its ups and downs since lime immemorial.
The meet also resolved to intensify the ongoing agitation for complete withdrawal of Armed Forces Special Powers Act from Manipur if Union Minister Shivraj Patil, who is scheduled to arrive here tomorrow did not give a concrete assurance on lifting the Act from Manipur.
Meanwhile, All Students Guardians Assn, Manipur has appealed to all concerned for utilising the visit of Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil to highlight the problems of the people with regard to the demand for revocation of AFSPA from Manipur and restored normalcy in the State.
