Imphal, April 01 2012:
Refuting the allegation levelled against one Mongjam Phulindro of Mayang Imphal of raping his daughter-in-law, daughter of the accused has clarified that the allegations levelled against her father are baseless and unfounded.
Speaking to reporters at Manipur Press Club today, daughter of the accused, P Premi said that the 'so-called' victim never called her up to inform about the incident.
Maintaining that the 'so-called' victim does not own a mobile phone, P Premi said that the truth can be known from the Airtel office regarding the matter.
Premi also said that necessary tests must be conducted on both her father and 'so-called' victim to bring out the truth before the general public.
Premi said that she came to know about the incident only after police came to her house in search of her father.
Claiming that her father was not arrested by the police, Premi said that her father surrendered at Wangoi Police Station through a Councillor of Mayang Imphal Municipal Council as police were constantly looking for his whereabouts.
Flaying vandalisation of her father's house, Premi said that she could have lauded the people of the locality if they vandalised the house after digesting the truth.
Phulindro's son Romi said that he could not sense the occurance of the incident although he lived in the room next to his younger brother's room.
The 'so-called' victim also never disclosed about the incident to his wife, he added.
Romi said that they came to know about the incident only when victim's brother Shyamananda came to their house and allegedly vandalised the household items.
He said that Shyamanda is working as a security escort of a high ranking police personnel of Imphal West police station.
He came with a gun and took away Rs 2 lakhs and eight sans of gold jewellery by breaking an almirah, Romi alleged.
