210 test positive, two succumb

Imphal, September 29 2021:
Two individuals belonging to Imphal East and Imphal West, one of whom had first dose of Covid vaccine and the other had both the doses, died due to coronavirus during the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 1854 .
One of them had co-morbidities, according to a bulletin issued by Additional Director (Health) and COVID-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang.
On the other hand, 210 persons including four CAPF personnel were confirmed positive at RIMS (9), JNIMS (38) and other testing centres (163) out of 2,794 samples tested during the last 24 hours which puts the positivity rate at 7.5 per cent.
The 206 civilians who have been tested positive are residents of Imphal East (49), Imphal West (105), Thoubal (2), Bishnupur (7), Kakching (6), Ukhrul (14), Churachandpur (13), Chandel (3), Senapati (2), Tengnoupal (2), Kamjong (2) and Noney (1) .
Kamjong again recorded the maximum number of positivity rate at 22.2 per cent followed by Imphal East (12 per cent) and Imphal West (10.1 per cent) .
Following recovery, 144 COVID-19 positive persons were discharged during the last 24 hours from home isolation (43), RIMS (3), JNIMS (10), CCCs (80) and CHICs (8) .
The cumulative number of positive cases is 1,20,426 (general population 1,16,142 and Central security personnel 4,284) .
It includes 2,207 active cases (general population 2,174 and Central security personnel 33) and 1,16,365 recovered cases (general population 1,12,119 and Central security personnel 4,246) .
The recovery rate is 96.63 per cent.
In the last 24 hours, a total of 1115 D-type oxygen cylinders and 353 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities of the State.
The cumulative number of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in the State has reached 16,89,917 (1st dose 12,21,557 and 2nd dose 4,68,360) .
This includes 8064 doses administered on September 28.As enumerated by the COVID-19 Common Control Room, COVID-19 beds available at different health care centres are RIMS (general beds 198; ICU/HDU beds 23), JNIMS (general beds 43; ICU/HDU beds 9), CMC (general beds 29; ICU/HDU beds 8), Iboyaima Hospital (general beds 25; ICU/HDU beds 5), Jivan Hospital (general beds 20; ICU/HDU beds 5), Shija Hospital (general beds 60; ICU/HDU beds 37) and Raj Medicity (general beds 74; ICU/HDU beds 22) .
