10 remain in fray for Outer seat

It is now officially confirmed that ten candidates would fight for the Outer Manipur Lok Sabha seat.
The contenders for Inner Manipur Lok Sabha seat may be lower by two as eight candidates have so far filed their nominations till today which is the last date for filing nomination papers.
Kh Ibomcha of AAP filed his nomination papers today taking the total number of candidates in Inner Manipur P/C to eight, informed an official source.
Scrutiny for Inner Manipur P/C would be done at 11 am tomorrow at the Imphal West DC office in Lamphelpat.
To avoid undue congestion during the process of scrutiny, Imphal West DC and Inner Manipur P/C RO K Radhakumar has announced certain measures.

Candidates may go inside the scrutiny hall together with one proposer, one election agent and a fourth person.
Candidates who have filed their nomination papers in Inner Manipur P/C are Dr Th Meinya (INC), RK Ranjan (BJP), Sarangthem Manaobi (TMC), Dr M Nara (CPI), O Jotin (JMB), G Tonsana (MPDF) Kh Ibomcha (AAP) and O Indira (Ind) .
The last date for withdrawal of nomination papers is March 29 and Inner Manipur P/C would go to polls on April 17 .
On the other hand, none of the 10 candidates who have filed their nomination papers in Outer Manipur P/C withdrew their nomination papers till today which is the last date for withdrawal of nomination papers.
Thus it has been confirmed that 10 candidates would fight for the Outer Manipur Lok Sabha seat.
The contenders are Thangso Baite (INC), Prof Gangmumei Kamei (BJP), Kim Gangte (TMC), Soso Lorho (NPF), C Doungel (NCP), Lalminlien alias Lien Gangte (JD-U), Mani Charenamei (Ind), Lamlalmoi alias Momoi Gangte (Ind), Armson Sankhil (Ind) and M Khamchinpau Zou (Ind) .
Meanwhile, two ECI appointed observers of Outer Manipur P/C today discussed about the poll preparations with DCs and SPs posted within the constituency.
Later in the afternoon, the two observers and RO T Ranjit held another meeting with representatives of political parties on holding the election peacefully.
