TPR continues to be in double digit for second day on the trot with 11.9 pc 235 more cases added

For the second day on the trot the daily positivity rate continued to be in the double digit, with Manipur recording the daily test positivity rate at 11.9 percent.
Of the 1974 samples tested in the last 24 hours, 235 persons including 15 Central security personnel tested positive.
This is the fifth time that Central security personnel have returned positive results in double digit during the current month.
No deaths were reported in the last 24 hours and the total tally of deaths due to the virus continues to remain at 2015 .
Vaccination coverage on the other hand continues to be poor with only 57.48 percent of the eligible population having received the first dose and 43.55 percent the second dose.
Kangpokpi still lies at the bottom of the table on the vaccination chart with just 13.46 percent of the population having received the second dose and 20.11 percent the first dose.
Ukhrul makes up the other last two spot with just 19.09 percent having received the second dose and 25.70 the first dose.
The 235 new positive cases were detected during testing at RIMS (23), JNIMS (16) and other testing centres (196) .
The 220 civilians are from Imphal East (65), Imphal West (102), Thoubal (12), Bishnupur (7), Kakching (10), Kangpokpi (4), Kamjong (1), Tamenglong (1), Tengnoupal (1), Jiribam (2), Senapati (6), Chandel (5) and Churachandpur (4) .
All necessary medical precautionary measures including containment and contact tracing have been taken up, said the COVID-19 Common Control Room in a statement.
With the addition of 235 more cases, the cumulative number of positive cases in the State is now 1,27,493 inclusive of 4733 Central security personnel.
In the last 24 hours, a total of 60 persons were discharged from home isolation (28), RIMS (2), JNIMS (6) and CCCs (24) .
The cumulative number of recovered cases is now 1,24,021 including 4452 Central security personnel and the recovery rate is now 97.28 percent.
Imphal West continues to lead the chart on the vaccination table with 74.43 percent of the eligible population having received the first dose and 58.45 percent the second dose.
Jiribam district comes close behind with 59.37 percent (second dose) and 71.77 percent (first dose).
Imphal East has 54.37 percent (second dose) and 71.04 percent (first dose) .
Other than Kangpokpi and Ukhrul, the hill districts continue to lag behind in the vaccination coverage with Kamjong registering (34.60 pc first dose and 23.24 percent second dose), Pherzawl (34.01 percent and 32.07 percent), Noney (41.04 percent and 29.31 percent), Tengnoupal (46.59 percent and 32.62 percent), Tamenglong (41.47 percent and 29.95 percent), Senapati (33.00 percent and 24.85 percent) and Churachandpur (57.94 percent and 44.53 percent) .
Amongst the hill districts, Chandel is comparatively better placed with 67.32 percent and 53.17 percent.
With Manipur reporting more positive cases each day, the COVID-19 Common Control Room has again started giving the Covid bed status at RIMS and JNIMS.
At JNIMS out of the total 300 beds kept aside for Covid patients, 18 are currently occupied and 282 are vacant.
At RIMS the total beds available are 190 with 74 being occupied and 116 beds being vacant.
On January 16, the total number of vaccines administered is 1881 taking the cumulative number of doses administered to 23,87,436 including 10,19,550 second dose and 6065 precautionary dose.
On January 16, a total of 289 D Type Oxygen cylinders and 56 B Type Oxygen cylinders were made available to different health centres across the district.
