15 more deaths reported, 530 out of 5,059 test positive

Imphal, June 13 2021: A slight dip from the total of 554 positives on June 12 at 530 but a high positivity rate marked the day in Manipur on the Covid map on June 13 .

The death toll remained the same with 15 more fatalities reported in the last 24 hours to take the total number to 974 .

Out of 5,059 test results received in the last 24 hours, 530 including two Central security personnel returned positive results, pegging the positivity rate at 10.47 pc.

This is the first time that the positivity rate has touched the double digit mark since June 7 when the figure was pegged at 11.99 pc which is way above the 5 pc recommended by the World Health Organisation for easing restrictions.

A statement issued by the COVID-19 Common Control Room today said that 15 deaths were reported from all over the State in the last 24 hours.

The deaths included 7 from Imphal West, Imphal East (2), Thoubal (1), Bishnupur (2), Kakching (1), Ukhrul (1) and Jiribam (1) .

The victims succumbed to the virus at RIMS (2), JNIMS (7), Shija Hospital (4), Raj Medicity (1) and District Hospital, Jiribam (1) .

The 528 positive cases from amongst the general population were drawn from Imphal East (79), Imphal West (170), Thoubal (56), Bishnupur (60), Kakching (36), Ukhrul (7), Churachandpur (53), Chandel (41), Tamenglong (6), Noney (1) and Jiribam (19) .

All necessary precautionary measures like contact tracing and containment have been put in place, said the statement.

On the other hand, 726 persons were discharged in the last 24 hours.

They were discharged from home isolation (526), RIMS (11), JNIMS (4) and 185 from other Covid Care Centres.

The cumulative number of positive cases is 59,852 (general population-56,082 and Central security personnel-3770) and the number of active cases is 8499 (general population-8495 and Central security personnel-4) .

The recovery rate stands at 84.17 percent.

In the last 24 hours, a total of 1791 D-type Oxygen cylinders and 498 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health centres in the State.

The total number of persons vaccinated is 4,67,076 though it has not been specified how many have received the second shot.

Of the 10 air passengers who were tested at BT airport today, none were found positive.
