Active cases touch 91, 12 more test positive

Imphal, April 09 2021:
Although there was no report of Covid related death during the last 24 hours, 12 people were found infected by the virus, pushing the total number of active cases to 91 .
The 12 civilians who were tested positive at Imphal West, RD Wing, Shija Hospital, Babina Diagnostics and Maipakpi Hospital are residents of Imphal East (1), Imphal West (7), Bishnupur (3) and Senapati (1) .
A press release issued by Additional Director (Health) and COVID-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang, said eight COVID-19 positive people were discharged during the last 24 hours.
While four were discharged from home isolation following recovery, the other four were transferred outside the State.
The cumulative number of positive cases is 29,475 (general population 26,023 and Central security personnel 3,452) .
This figure includes 91 active cases (general population 90 and Central security personnel 11) and 29,009 recovered cases (general population 25,572 and Central security personnel 3,437) .
While the death toll stands at 375, the recovery rate as on Friday is 98.41 per cent.
Air passengers who came to the State on April 8 by Indigo flight 6E-2615 in rows 1-13 have been instructed to inform the COVID-19 Common Control Room on 18003453818 or respective District Surveillance Officers immediately.
Meanwhile, 722 people were vaccinated on Thursday, taking the cumulative number to 91,272 which includes 31,904 health care workers.
