Four NSCN-K cadres killed

Four NSCN-K cadres were killed in an encounter with a combined team of 9 Dogra and 21 Para regiments at Kamlengching village under Nungba police station in Tamenglong district at around 7.30 am yesterday.
According to a reliable source, Kamlengching village is located between Kekru Naga and Longpi villages.
Two AK-47 rifles, one 9 mm pistol and some live rounds of AK-47 were found beside the slain cadres, added the source.
The slain cadres have been identified as self styled captain Gailiang of Bamgaijang village, Ating alias Abe of Mandeu village, Gaichan-glung of Bangdaijang village and self styled corporal Taichielung s/o Sangdailung of Bangdaijang village.
All the bodies have been handed over to respective families after post mortem examinations were done at JNIMS morgue today.
Meanwhile, a statement issued by the publicity secretary of NSCN-K Zeliangrong region, KD Gangmei has condoled the demise of 'lieutenant' Ating, '2nd lieutenant' Gailiang, 'sergeant major' Taklangbau and 'private' Chungthanglung.
The statement said that they fell to AR bullets while on duty at around 6.45 am yesterday.
They were cooking food when Assam Rifles troops fired on them, the statement said.
Although, they have gone to their heavenly abode, their love for the nation would neither be forgotten nor would it perish, the statement said.
The statement also expressed gratitude to all the Zeliangrong organizations and frontal organizations for extending their supports in the hour of need.
Officers, members and cadres of NSCN-K observed a two-minute silence to show respect to the departed souls of the four cadres during a condolence meeting held at the Zeliangrong region unit, the statement said.
It also conveyed solidarity to the bereaved family members, friends and their relatives.
