Imphal, May 02 2015 :
United Kuki Liberation Front (UKLF) on Saturday clarified the press statement of three persons Limkhojam Haokip, Jangthang Mate and Jilpao Touthang which was published in the few local dailies on April 30.The outfit says that it was deliberately done to tarnish the image of the UKLF and has no truth in the report.
According to a statement issued by UKLF information and Publicity Secretary MP Haokip the allegation made by three individuals was baseless and concocted.
He asked the individuals to clarify it before any action taken against them.
Haokip said on the said public meeting the three persons were not present and is wondering where they got misleading information.
They have to clarify it before things get out of hands.
UKLF had organized public meetings in connection with the coming ADC election and these were attended by a number of village chiefs and social organization leaders.
The meetings resolved on few issues which the organizations are obliged to follow and there is no secrecy in it.
The organization never does anything or take any secret resolution against public interest.
Everything is done publicly with the participation of the people.
"It is unfortunate that baseless allegations came from those who did not attend such public meetings" Haokip said.
If the allegation had been leveled by the participants in the meetings it had some credibility but now it is from absentees.
Public meetings were held mainly to discuss and come out with a solution for the development of the area and the people.
But it was unfortunate that those people who are least concerned for the area did not bother to attend such important meetings.
This point is to be understood by the people.
Moreover, it is learnt that an ex-MLA , who is not presently residing in the area, was instrumental in coercing the three persons to level such baseless charges which are all the more unfortunate.
It will be the last warning for him to stop sowing seeds of animosity in the society.
The three persons must keep in mind that each and everybody can not become elected member because seats are limited.
If they can patiently wait, they may be elected by the people next time.
Now their true colors have become open and their hope of becoming an MDC is flying in the air.
They should also keep in mind that it is important to abide by the dictates of the public if they want to join politics and serve the people.
