KSO calls for transparency in recruitment

Imphal, August 04, 2012: Taking due cognizance of the grievances of the candidates who took part in the recruitment process for 243 posts of Sub-Inspector in the Home Department, KSO General Headquarters has observed that delay in announcement of the recruitment result is of great concern as the fate of many candidates in the balance because of the government's indecisiveness.

In a statement issued by its General Secretary Sasang Vaiphei , the student body said, "It has come to our knowledge that the number of successful candidates declared for viva-voce was not in synch with the existing government's recruitment norms and regulations in the ratio of 1:3. The department had declared 445 candidates as eligible for viva-voce as against 729 candidates applied for the post.

It should have declared eligible for 243 vacant posts".

KSO demanded the government to make amend over this oversight and further declared 284 candidates for the viva-voce in order to make up the shortfall.

The Kuki students' body has also urged other like-minded students' organizations to take up the case as it concerns the welfare of students who had labored so hard to have the chance to the serve the people.

Stating that it has come to its knowledge that many qualified and deserving candidates could make the cut for viva-voce and are hurling allegation of some irregularities in the recruitment process, KSO also suggested the recruiting authority to maintain transparency so as to avert any scandalous situation.

Failure to comply with this demand for declaring additional 284 candidates for viva-voce may invite stringent actions and there should not be any viva-voce for the 243 Sub-Inspector posts until the demand is considered, it added.
