Lamka, August 04, 2012:
Three major chiefs' committee today said they backed the stand of their Senapati Districtict counterparts regarding transfer of 25 percent of MGNREGS fund from the villages account to Districtict Council members' account.
Rallying behind the news report in this paper, the United Chiefs' Committee, the Kuki Chiefs' Joint Action Committee, and the Zomi Chiefs' Assocaition proclaimed that they strongly support the stand of Senapati Districtict Villages Chairman/Secretaries Association.
The statements however stopped short in mentioning the August 15 dateline their counterparts have mentioned.
They also refrained from mentioning any form of agitation if their opposition is not heeded.
