AMUCO observes 13th Manipur Integrity Day
'We still need to fight for protection of our territorial integrity'

Remembering the day when people of the state took out a massive rally on this day in 1997 with a pledge to safeguard the territorial integrity of Manipur, All Manipur United Clubs Organisation (AMUCO) observed Manipur Integrity Day here today.
On the occasion, hundreds of people paid floral tributes at the Integrity Pillar erected at Mapal Kangjeibung.
Later, the main observance function was held along with a public meeting at MDU hall at Yaiskul Police lane.
Delivering the Presidential address of the observance function, KT Rehman, President of AMUCO stated that after entering into a ceasefire agreement with the Government of India, NSCN-IM has been trying to Districtrb the territorial integrity of Manipur and now under the influence of Government of India, some Kuki organizations have also started demanding a homeland for the Kukis.
"Since the Government of India is hell-bent on Districtrbing the territorial integrity of Manipur, we cannot live without worrying over the issue of our territorial integrity.

Thounaojam Iboyaima, President of Irabot Foundation, who was also present on the occasion as one of the presidium member, said that the Indian Union has been upto various mischiefs, thus resulting in various unwanted incidents in the state.
"We should never remain silent when our territorial integrity is at stake.
Our territorial integrity has all along been protected by our forefathers with their blood and sweat", he said.
Y Nabachandra, President of United Committee Manipur (UCM) categorically stated that even if certain organizations are trying to destroy the territorial integrity of Manipur, it does not necessarily mean that the communities to which these organizations said to represent, are also up for it.
People of different communities settling in Manipur are still living peacefully and there is the inalienable bond of love attached among themselves.
So, we should all remain united against such divisive forces.
The function was also attended by Md Kheiruddin Shah of All Manipur Muslim Organisation; Rose Mangsi, President of Kuki Mothers' Association; Kakomlunglu Kamei, President of Kabui Mothers Association and L Memchoubi, President of Poirei Leimarol Meira Paibi Apunba Manipur as presidium members.
