Imphal, August 04, 2012:
The NSCN-IM said today that the outfit is a 'people based, issue based' organisation.
"Our focal point is on how our objective and goal is to be concretized based on interdependent relationship between the two entities and shared sovereignty is an option at this given situation," a senior NSCN-IM leader stated today.
This statement of the NSCN-IM leader came few days after S.S Khaplang had "declared" that his group would not accept anything less than Naga sovereignty.
Meanwhile, accusing the Khaplang group of NSCN of being sheltered and nurtured by Assam Rifles, the NSCN-IM leader said the ceasefire of the former with the government of India is 'conditional'.
"The ceasefire agreement between the Khaplang group and the Government of India says that the former has accepted the land of the law," said the high ranking leader of the NSCN-IM and asks, "Where is the sovereignty question for Mr Khaplang?".
The NSCN-IM leader then claimed that in spite of having had sent feelers several times to S.S Khaplang by the former to have reconciliation with them, the former backed out when the process was on.
"This Khaplang group had also joined forces with others who are hostile to the Naga issues," alleged the NSCN-IM leader.
With regard to Nagas situation in Myanmar, SS Khaplang has been held responsible by the NSCN-IM for the 'loss' of several 'Naga townships' to others.
"Out of the nine Naga towndships, six of them have gone with the Sangaing Division and Kachin State and at the moment only three townships are left with the Nagas," alleged the NSCN-IM leader.
