Reaffirming thebond between the brothers and the sisters, Ningol Chakkouba festival was celebrated with great fanfare all over the State yesterday.
Apart from celebrating the festival in every households by inviting married women and their children to a grand feast, the festival was also celebrated at community level by various social organisations by inviting women from various communities.
All Manipur Ethnical Socio-Cultural Organisation (AMESCO), which has been celebrating the festival under the banner of 'Eikhoigee Iche-Ichalsing-bu Ningingba Numit with the main objective of promoting love, peace, integrity and co-existence among different tribes and communities of Manipur, this year celebrated Ningol Chak-kouba at Iboyaima Shumang Leela Sanglen here yesterday with the co-operation of various clubs, social organisations and associations.

As in previous years, National Identity Protection Committee (NIPCO) joined hands with various other social organisations in celebrating Chingmi-Tammi Ningol Chakkouba by hosting community feasting at different places like Saiton Bazar in Bishnupur district, Pallel Bazar in Thoubal Bazar, Ekou Bazar in Imphal East District, etc.
Chingmi-Tammi Ningol Chakkouba celebration was also organised by MPI Council and All Manipur Women's Social Reformation and Development Samaj respectively Tangkham Kalika Lairembi and Sinam Shama Devi Town Hall, Chingmeirong yesterday.
