Commander-in-chief of the proscribed outfit, Kuki Revolutionary Army (KRA) Khuplal Hangshing (35) was reportedly shot dead by unidentified gunmen at a rented house in INA at New Delhi at around 11 pm on November 11.Son of late Lalkhopao Hangshing, the slain commander-in-chief hailed from Tingpibung village under Saikul Police Station.
His body has not been brought to Imphal till today.
On the other hand, an abducted youth was found shot dead by unidentified gunmen at Sarik Kongjil behind Tokpa Ching under Waikhong Police Station yesterday morning.
The victim identified as Thingnam Priyojit (20) s/o Th Thambou of Umathel Makha Leikai was reportedly abducted by some unidentified gunmen from Wabagai area some two-three days earlier and his body was found yesterday morning.
After post-mortem examination at Lilong PHC yesterday, the body was handed over to family members.
UKLF salutes : While offering revolutionary salute to the commander in-chief of KRA/ROCK Pu Khuiplam Hangshing alias K Hangshing, the United Kuki Liberation Front has demanded clarification from the organisation concerned responsible for the slaying of the former UPF joint secretary and ex-general secretary of the KNC.
Remembering Hang shing as a good and God fearing leader of the Kukis, a release issued by UKLF's information and publicity secretary Th James Bond also contended that the revolutionary figure was slain by 'contract killers' in Delhi.
The UKLF also conveyed sorrow and grief to the bereaved family and to all ranks of the KRA organisation, and appealed to brethren revolutionary organisations to stop factional killing and instead work for unity of the people.
