SSC women clinch District volleyball tournament title

Senapati Sporting Club beat Maram Sisters to win the District Level Women's Volleyball Tournament 2024 on Wednesday.
The Assam Rifles in collaboration with Senapati District Volleyball Association organised the tournament in Senapati district.
The tournament commenced on May 3, 2024 and culminated in an electrifying final match on Wednesday.
Seventeen teams from various regions of the district participated in the tournament.
The final was a closely contested match in which Senapati Sporting Club defeated Maram Sisters to clinch the title.
During his speech, Maj NM Singh described the tournament an exhilarating journey that witnessed some outstanding performances and competitive spirit on display.
Chief guest of the closing event, Col Aditya Deo, commanding officer 16 Assam Rifles Maram, congratulated teams participating in the tournament, highlighting the excitement and popularity of the game.
The event aimed to promote female sportsper-sons from Manipur, a state known for its sports power.
The commandant also planned to organise a basketball tournament in June, emphasising sports' importance in community spirit and holistic development.
Commandant Maram Battalion, Assam Rifles graciously presented a prestigious trophy and cash prizes to the winners and runners team, acknowledging their exceptional performance and dedication to the sport.
The gesture exemplifies Assam Rifles' commitment to promoting sportsmanship and community engagement.
The tournament garnered significant attention, drawing spectators from various civil society organizations (CSOs) and sports enthusiasts across Senapati district.
Their presence added to the vibrant atmosphere with loud cheering of the teams by supporters.
Assam Rifles extended its heartfelt gratitude to all participants, spectators, and supporters who contributed to the success of the District Level Women's Volleyball Tournament.
The winning team was awarded with a cash prize of Rs 20,000 with trophy/medals and the runners-up with Rs 10,000 with medals.
Individual prizes were also awarded to Ngambila RS from the Maram Sisters as the best setter, Lephravine of the Senapati Sporting Club as the best spiker, and player of the tournament to Rinrei-chon Shangh of the Senapati Sporting Club.
