17th Manipur State League W Tejkumar nets five AFC as trounce NEROCA FC 7-1

Imphal, April 06 2025: AFC, Thoubal trounced NEROCA FC reserves by 7-1 goals to culminate their Group B campaign in the 17th Manipur State League with 3 wins and two draws.

The final league match of the tournament saw Wahengbam Tejkumar netting five goals alone to set up the huge 7-1 victory for AFC against the reserve team of the Sangakpham side.

Wahengbam Tejkumar scored three goals back to back in the 32nd, 36th and 40th minutes to hand AFC a commanding 3-0 first half lead before Moichingmayum Atique, who subbed in for Md Iliyash Khan made it 4-0 after 74 minutes.

NEROCA FC pulled back a goal in the 76th minute through Md Sahinur but Singakhongbam Imtiyash retained the 4-goal advantage for AFC before Tejkumar rose again to score his fourth in the 88th minute and converted a penalty at the stroke of the 90-minute mark to complete the 7-1 thrashing.

With the win, AFC finished 5th in the 9-team Group B table on 11 points (three wins and two draws) while NEROCA FC finished 8th on 3 points off just a win in 8 matches.

Sang-Gai Heroes finished on top of the Group B table on 21 points off 7 wins while SFC, Tera finished second on 19 points off 6 wins and a draw.
