AKSDO, PCC prevail as Superplate tourney kicks off

AKSDO and PCC got off to winning starts as the 3rd MNCA Superplate Tournament 2023-24 got underway on Monday.
AKSDO beat FORCE by 31 runs at Public Ground Khangapbok Part-Ill, Cherapur.
Put in to bat, AKSDO scored 192 for 8 in the allotted 40 overs.
Sanayai (59), Akash (38 not out), L Winchelly (29) and Kh Bishworjit (26) were key contributors in their innings.
AKSDO then bowled out FORCE for 161 in 35 overs for their 31-run victory.
Roshan was the pick of AKSDO's bowlers by claiming 4 scalps as Sanayai snapped 2 wickets, with Akash and Rohit chipping in with a wicket apiece.
In their chase, fighting efforts by Saddam Shah (48), Kabir (32) and Naeem (23) went in vain.
Earlier, Tashib took 2 wickets while S Alam, Shushil, Naeem, Tashib and Afzal bagged one each for FORCE.
At Oriental College Ground, PCC started their campaign with a 44-run win over RCA.
Asked to bat first, PCC struggled to score big runs as they were bundled out for 156 in 36.2 overs.
In the innings, Ch Ranjan scored 32 while L Ronald and Ch Tyson both made 26 .
In the process, the side lost 2 wickets each to Md Danish Khan, Naesh and Syed, and one to Md Iliyas.
In reply, RCA faltered in their chase as they could manage only 112 runs after being bowled out in 31.1 overs.
L Ronald emerged as the chief destroyer for PCC with a haul of 4 wickets.
L Chingkheihunba claimed 2 wickets while Ajaykumar, S Rohit and M Lucky had one wicket each in their side's triumph.
