State Shooting: Sanahal, Jubaraj emerge as day's top performers

Imphal, August 21 2025: Raj Kumar Sanahal Singh and Nongmaithem Jubaraj Singh emerged as the standout shooters on the fifth day of the 33rd All Manipur Shooting Competition 2025 at Taothong Lamshang, Imphal West.

Representing the Imphal West District Rifle Association, Sanahal showcased exceptional consistency and precision, securing two gold medals along with a silver.

He clinched first place in both the 50m rifle prone master men and senior master men categories, while adding a silver in the 50m rifle prone men's individual.

His commanding score of 570.00-0X in both master events firmly established him as the day's most successful marksman.

In the open sight 50m rifle prone men's event, Naorem Govindamayi Singh, also from Imphal West, struck gold with an impressive 472.00-0x .

The women's counterpart was won by Janita Nameirakpam (Imphal West DRA), who recorded a winning score of 455.00-0x .

The junior categories highlighted rising talent, with Nongmaithem Jubaraj Singh of the Manipur Rifle Association completing a double triumph by winning gold in both the junior men's open sight and precision sight rifle prone events.

In the youth division, Leeojun Leishangthem (Imphal West DRA) captured gold in the men's sight competition with a score of 553.00 .

Other notable winners included K Asish Sharma (Manipur Rifle Association), who secured gold in the 50m prone men's individual, and Kshetrimayum Nisha Chanu (Imphal East DRA), who topped the podium in the women's event.
