17th Manipur State League : YPHU beat Milan FA, finish Group A leaders despite UPAA's 5-1 thrashing of Elite FA

Imphal, April 04 2025: YPHU, Lalambung consolidated themselves on top of Group A table as they beat Milan FA, Kontha Ahallup 1-0 to finish unbeaten in 9 group matches in the 17th Manipur State League.

Having drawn against Rahee UC, MPSC and NESU and registered wins against YOSC, UPAA, USA, TRAU, Milan FA and Elite FA, YPHU rode on Manoharmayum Kabiraj's 18th minute strike to seal their 6th win and amass 21 points.

The result lifted YPHU above UPAA, Kyamgei who crushed Elite FA, Kontha Ahallup by 5-1 goals earlier in the day to cap their league campaign with 7 wins and go atop Group A table temporarily on 21 points.

Interestingly, both YPHU and UPAA not only shared 21 points but also the same number of goals scored during their campaign.

YPHU, who also had beaten UPAA by 2-0 goals, however enjoyed a better goal difference (14 against 12 for UPAA) .

In UPAA's comprehensive 5-1 victory, Konsam Angamba added twice (14', 60') while Laishram Binoy (26'), Yensembam Umakanta (42') and Ngangom Peter (72') added a goal apiece.

Khuraijam Sinthoiba scored the consolation goal for Elite FA .

USA who are third on 16 points will play fourth placed MPSC in their final Group A league match while bottom placed TRAU will play NESU, who are fifth in the table on 11 points in their final Group A league match.
