Imphal, March 24 2024:
PTRC notched up a 22-run win over RULE in Sunday's action of the 8th MNCA W Prahlada & W Ramananda Elite Tournament at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium, Imphal.
PTRC made 140 in 34 overs after deciding to bat first.
Robinson Sougaijam (39), Raj Kumar Rex Singh (20), Ngariyanbam Jameson Singh (18), Bishworjit Singh Konthoujam (17) and Rabi Sahu (15 not out) all hit double digits in the Patsoi side's underwhelming performance.
For RULE, Nongthombam Sarojkumar Singh grabbed three wickets while Thokchom Kishan Singh, Rojit Singh Angomcha and Avinash Asmali each picked up two wickets, with Jay Singh taking one.
Despite their poor batting display, PTRC successfully defended their total after their bowlers came up with a fine bowling spell to dismiss RULE for 118 in 35.5 overs and clinch the match.
Bishworjit Singh Konthoujam led the scalping with a three-wicket haul as Raj Kumar Rex Singh and Jotin Singh Pheiroijam claimed two wickets apiece, and Tamarland Pheiroijam and Deepak took one each.
Jay Singh (28), Sanjembam Somokanta Khuman (23 not out), and Sanjenbam Suresh (21) all scored double figures in the RULE's run chase, but their efforts were in vain.
