SRDC, WALYDA win as Kakching 2nd Div Football League kicks off

Imphal, July 14 2024: SRDC (Kakching) and WALYDA (Wabagai) both emerged victorious as the Kakching Second Division Football League 2024 kicked off at DSA Kakching playfield on Sunday.

M Devaraj scored a hat-trick to guide SRDC to a 4-2 win over KFC (Kakching).

Devraj opened the scoring in the 20th minute but N Rustam equalised for KFC two minutes later.

SRDC restored their lead just before the halftime whistle courtesy of Rk Mangalsana.

KFC clawed their way back to contention when Th Yumjao converted in the 47th minute but Devraj came up with a double (76, 80+3) to complete his treble and wrap up the victory for SRDC.

Earlier in the opening match, WALYDA eked out a slender 1-0 success against UCC (Kakching).

Th Bidyakanta turned hero as his strike in the 64th minute helped his team secure all three points in their campaign opener.
