Kangpokpi Inter Ward Tourney Ward No 17, 9, 8 (A), 1 (A) enter semi-final

With the end of the quarter final matches of the ongoing Kanggui Inter Ward Tourney here today at Brig M Thomas Ground, Kangpokpi DHQs, Ward No.17, Ward No.9, Ward No.8 (A) and Ward No.1 (A) will be looking for spots in the final.
In the third quarter final match played today, Ward No.9 overwhelmed Ward No.4 (A) 3-1 to lock horns with Ward No 8 (A) in the second semi-final match tomorrow at 2.30 pm while 1 (A) who defeated Ward No.2 (A) 5-2 via a tie break in the fourth quarter-final today to play with Ward No.17 in the first semi-final match tomorrow at 12 pm.
The third quarter final match between Ward No.9 and 4 (A) conducted and cautiously monitored by senior centre referee Hethang Kipgen went calmly before Paokhokap of Ward No.9 found the opener in the 39th minute which marked the onset of a hyperactive match.
The match went more furious when Paogoulal of Ward No.9 struck another goal in the 42nd minute before Thangboi added another in the 69th minute.
Ward No 4 (A) after an inexorable attacked in the 75th minute found a penalty kick which was brilliantly converted by Satboilen but it was too late for them to come back.
Laljagin Kipgen, captain of Ward No.4 (A) was booked by the centre referee in the 14th minute for his unsporting behaviour during the match.
The fourth quarter final saw Ward No.1 (A) and 2 (A) playing out a tense game as the winners would advance into the semi-finals.
The first half of match went goalless until Haominlen of Ward No 1 (A) found the opener only in the 45th minute of the second half creating a loud celebration from huge fans of Ward No.1(A) near the playground with drum and vuvuzela.
Taking advantage of the rebounded ball from an indirect kick which hit the goal post of Ward No.9, Daniel of Ward No.2 (A) found the late equalizer in the last 62nd minute to decide their fates through tie break.
The tie break went in favour Ward No.1(A) who managed to score five goals while Ward No.2 (A) could only score two goals.
