Manipur University cultural team feted

A reception ceremony was held today at the Court Hall of Manipur University in honour of the 'Manipur University Cultural Team' that participated in the 33rd East Zone Inter-University Youth Festival, 2017-18 which was held from January 5 to 9 at Guwahati University, Assam.
Professor Adya Prasad Pandey, Vice-Chancellor, MU and Prof Kh Tomba Singh, Dean of Students' Welfare graced the ceremony as the chief guest and guest of honour respectively.
Altogether 44 students from Manipur University took part in the festival.
The cultural team won champion in the Dance Event, 2nd position in the Cultural Procession, 2nd Runners Up in the Fine Arts and bagged 3rd Runners up in the youth festival.
Speaking at the occasion, Prof Pandey said, "I am proud to be the head of this institution (MU) to see my students bringing laurels and achievements in all the fields.
It is a great moment for me as well as for the university.
I am very glad to see our students coming home with prizes, trophies and medals" .
Extending his heartiest congratulations to the team, he requested the student to share the knowledge and experience they gained from this festival with the fellow and junior students of the university so that they can also follow the same footsteps to bring more achievements in the future.
He also, appealed to the students of the university to always keep the best foot forward and continue with the same spirit.
Prof Sumitra Phanjoubam, Procter, MU, Ganesh Sethi, Public Relations Officer, MU, all the team members, team manager, and other officials were also present at the reception ceremony.
