Imphal, September 21 2026: The Department of Sports, Manipur University has announced the university men and women's teams for East Zone Inter University Kabaddi tournaments.

The players who have been selected to represent the university in the East Zone Inter University Kabaddi (W) tournament to be hosted by Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya, Bilaspur Chhattisgarh from October 6 to 9 include Ningthoujam Abenao, Salam Alish Chanu and Laishram Priyaluxmi Chanu of Pravabati College; Ngangom Saya and Sweety Moirangthem of Ng Mani College; Tanjila Makakmayum of Lilong Haoreibi College; O Nganthoi of Nambol L Sanoi College; Lingelthoibi Chingakham of SK Women's College; W Ichamacha of Kumbi College and Munisana Thongbam of Manipur University.

Haobam Sanathoibi of Ng Mani College, Sinam Debajarani of Pravabati College, K Jayaluxmi of SK Women's College and L Silky of Thoubal College were named in the reserve list.

Meanwhile the players who were selected in the men's team for the East Zone Inter University Kabaddi (M) tournament to be hosted by VBS Purvanchal University, Jaunpur, UP from October 7 to 10 are Sameer, Manjur and Md Hasibkhan of Lilong Haoreibi College; Kh Janmanjoy and Regam Loushambam of Ng Mani College; N DM Krush Mangang of Biramangol College; N Adison of Moirang College; Waikhom Langjel of Manipur University; Abinash Chingtham of Thoubal College and H Rock of Thambal Marik College.

Md Habibullah Buyamayum of Lilong Haoreibi College, Dina Tensubam of Ng Mani College; S Nawash Khan of Standard College and T Borish of Manipur University were also named in the reserve list.

The players were further informed to report to the Assistant Director of Sports, MU on September 23 at 11 am at Dr Kamal Indoor Stadium for coaching and completion of eligibility formalities.
