Sub-Jr and Junior Aquatic Nationals : Tomthin, Champion make 2-3 finishes in diving

Chakpram Tomthin and P Champion made 2-3 finishes in the Group III Boys (12-13 yrs) 3 m Springboard event on Day 2 of the 42nd and 52nd Junior National Aquatics Championships (Diving and Water Polo) being underway in Indore.
Maharashtra's Sambhav Suresh Chechar registered 262.10 points to seal the top honour as Chakpram Tomthin and Champion scored 253.90 points and 242.80 points respectively to settle for the silver and the bronze medals.
It was Tomthin's second medal having earned a bronze medal yesterday in the Platform Diving event with a haul of 190.65 points.
Arubam Ben Hur and Hirom Bronson were also seen securing the gold and silver medals in the Group II Boys' 3 m springboard competition yesterday with 353.55 and 304.88 points while Hirom Bronson and Saikhom Korounganba combined to win a bronze medal in the Highboard Synchronised event with a score of 157.80 points.
The second day also saw Lanchenbi Rajkumari miss a podium finish as she ended up scoring 161.55 points for the fourth place finish in the Group III Girls' 3 m springboard diving competition.
MP's Anika Anand Chourasia (209.20 pts), Kanak Ashok Shakmu of Maharashtra (190.45 pts) and Manashwini Shashikant Sawat of Maharashtra (173.00 pts) were the top three finishers in the event.
So far Manipur have amassed 1 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze medals at the championships.
