Imphal, April 05 2025: Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) continues to make its mark not only in National security but also in the field of sports.

In a proud moment for the force, Rifleman Basu Khare of 1 Assam Rifles, representing the Director General Assam Rifles (DGAR) team, clinched a gold medal at the Senior National Karate Championship held at Hyderabad.

With the remarkable victory, he has secured a place in the Indian Karate Team, marking a significant achievement for both himself and Assam Rifles.

Rifleman Basu Khare's journey to this prestigious win was marked by dauntless dedication, disciplined training, and rigorous preparation, said PRO IGAR (S) in a press release.

Through structured coaching and intensive training routine at Assam Rifles Training School & Centre, he demonstrated exceptional skill ultimately earning the top honour in the championship.

The victory reaffirms Assam Rifles' dedication to excellence in all spheres and underscores its role in not just defending the nation but also in uplifting and inspiring future generations of athletes, it said.
