ITF Senior Grade Tennis : Tule Thongbam clinches +45 singles title

Imphal, November 23 2018:
Manipur's Tule Thongbam claimed the above 45 years men's singles title of the ITF Senior Grade-4 Tennis Tournament-2018 organised by Manipur Tennis Association under the aegis of All India Tennis Federation at tennis court of Officers' Club, Lamphelpat, today.
Tule Thongbam overwhelmed Karan Kulwant Singh 6-0, 6-3 in the final staged today to seal the title.
Kannan Sethu on the other hand prevailed over Dilip Mohanty to notch up an easy 6-1, 6-0 win and claimed the above 35 years men's singles title.
The singles title for above 55 years category went to Sharad Tak, who secured a 6-4, 6-3 win over Rajan Beri in the final today.
The valedictory function of the tournament was attended by Retd IAS, Jarnail Singh, Administrator of Manipur University as chief guest who also awarded the athletes on the occasion.
Above 35 years singles winner, Kannan Sethu was awarded with Rs 10,000 along with title trophy and certificate and runners up Dilip Mohanty got Rs 7,000 along with trophy and certificate.
Semifinalists, Syed Zaidi and Nelson Jatin Kumar got Rs 3,500 each while quarter finalists, Indrakumar Kh, Surendra Alam, Dineshchandra Suyel and Dipak Marwaha were encouraged with Rs 1,500 each.
Tule Thongbam who claimed the above 45 years singles title was feted with Rs 10,000 along with trophy and certificate while runners up Karan Kulwant Singh got Rs 7,000 along with trophy and certificate.
Semifinalists and quarter finalists were also encouraged with Rs 3,500 and Rs 1,500 each.
Winners of above 55 singles competition, Sharad Tak and runners up Rajan Beri were also feted with Rs 10,000 and Rs 7,000 each along with trophies and certificates.
The semifinalists and quarterfinalists were also awarded with Rs 3,500 and Rs 1,500 respectively.
Dilip Mohanty and Bal Krishnan who claimed doubles title of above 3 years were honoured with Rs 10,000 while runners up Kannan Sethu and Shridhar Ratheesh got Rs 5,000.Semifinalists were also encouraged with Rs 2,500 each.
Winners, runners up and semifinalists of above 45 years and above 55 years doubles competitions were also awarded with Rs 10,000; Rs 5,000 and Rs 2,500 each on the occasion.
