Horticulture Minister inaugurates rural market shed at Senapati's Vakho village

Senapati, November 23 2018:
Horticulture and Soil Conservation Minister Thounaojam Shyamkumar today inaugurated a rural market shed constructed under the Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH) scheme with a cost of Rs 13.75 lakh at the Vakho village, Senapati district.
Speaking as the chief guest of the function held at Vakho village community hall, Th Shyamkumar said that the rural market shed was constructed at Vakho village so that locally grown vegetables and other produces can be sold at the market.
He said that the rural market shed will ease the villagers helping them boost their income and provide livelihoods.
Stating that the Horticulture and Soil Conservation Department aims to provide benefits to the people equally in the hills and the valley, he said that the department is planning to construct rural market sheds and implement other beneficial schemes at suitable area- in the hill districts.
Appealing the locals to support the various initiatives of the State Government, he requested the villagers and people of Senapati to cooperate and help the commuters along the National Highway.
He opined that development can be brought if there is no division among communities and if the State Government takes up necessary action on time.
The Minister also donated a badminton court for the villagers of Vakho village and stated that sports is an essential part of our daily lives.
