UDTWA appeals for release of pending salary before Christmas

Ukhrul District Teachers Welfare Association (UDTWA), Ukhrul has appealed the State Government for early release of pending salary before the Christmas festival.
Briefing the media persons at Viewland, Ukhrul, President of UDTWA, Wungnaoshang expressed that the teaching community are facing lots of hardship due to delay in the payment of their monthly salary.
He went on to mention that RMSA teachers are yet to receive salary since March 2018, while some teachers since October 2017 whereas pending salary of SSA teachers is five months and two months for the Council teachers.
Altogether, over 1300 teachers are working in Council, RMSA and SSA in education sector of Ukhrul district, he added.
According to Wungnaoshang, the teaching community are burdened with financial constraints and face immense economic management problem due to non-payment of salary on time.
Secretary of UDTWA Songayam expressed that more cash are needed ahead of Christmas preparation as most of the families has to incur additional expenditure during Christmas while adding that Christmas season is the time where near and dear ones would be visiting for families get together.
He also informed that all the necessary preparations are well set regarding the conduct of annual examination, as per the government order, to be held from November 26 to December 2 .
UDTWA urged the concerned Ministers of TA & Hills and the Education Minister to look into their grievances for timely payment of salary so that the families of the teachers can celebrate the festival with joy and delight.
