Myanmar teams for football exhibition matches arrive at Moreh

Moreh, November 23 2018:
A 52 member delegate comprising of two women teams and its officials from Sagaing and Mandalay regions of Myanmar arrived this morning at Moreh for the Manipur-Myanmar Football Exhibition matches to be held on November 25 and 26 as a part of the ongoing Manipur Sangai Festival.
The teams were given a warm reception at Moreh Trade Centre by officials of Act East Policy Committee, Government of Manipur, members of Imphal Mandalay Via Moreh Transporters Union and Dr S Ibomcha, SP, Tengnoupal District after undergoing necessary verifications at Integrated Check Post, Moreh and a feast was organised latter at the venue.
Speaking on the occasion, Co-ordinator of Act East Policy Committee, Shivadatta Luwang said that the exhibition matches will not only encourage the players of the Manipur, Sagaing and Mandalay regions but also will do a lot in fostering diplomatic ties between India and Myanmar.
Such events would surely helped exchanged of ideas and will benefit both the countries in the long run, he added.
U Myo Myint Aung, Director of Sports and Physical Education Department, Mandalay who was among the team expressed that the teams from Myanmar are visiting the State for the second time for the exhibition matches and would love to come in the future as we.
He also continued that such exhibition matches would surely improve the relations of both the countries.
The teams left for Imphal at 1.30 pm.
