ETTO organised Huyen Lallong Sarit Sarak Training Programme concludes

Imphal, September 21 2026: The 15-day Huyen Lallong Sarit Sarak Training Programme organised by the Eastern Thang-Ta Organisation (ETTO) from September 6 concluded yesterday at the office of the organisation at Tangkham.

The programme, attended by 40 candidates, was organised with the support of Chief Ministergi Artistesinggi Tengbang (CMAT), said ETTO in a press release.

The closing function of the training programme was attended by State Kala Akademi Awardee and Sarit Sarak Federation of India's technical chief advisor, Sintakpurel Thingbaijam Ibohanbi as chief guest; ETTO's Sintakpurel Nameirakpam Jiban as functional president; and Huyel Lanjang Thang-Ta Cultural Organisation, Yaiskul's Sintakpurel Laishram Lashamon and Meitei Inat Sindam Apunba, Heingang's Sintakpurel Ningthoujam Ibohal as guests of honour.

Addressing the event, the chief guest highlighted that Huyen Lallong was not only a tool of offence and a shield of defence in the early days, but it is also laced with intricate elements of governance and rules to be followed by an individual from birth to death.

He emphasised that such an invaluable treasure passed down by our forefathers should not be ignored.

Expressing sadness that many in the present generation are undermining the art form, he added, "It is our responsibility to keep our tradition and culture alive" .
