6 bodybuilders selected for World and Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Sports C'ships

Imphal, May 12 2024: As many as 4 State bodybuilders found their places in the Indian teams for both 15th WBPF World and 56th Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championships while two athletes were respectively selected for the world and the continental event.

As per a release issued by the All Manipur Body Builders Association (AMBBA), the trial selection for the National team for the two big events concluded today at Kochi, Kerala.

In the trial, Th Yaishana (junior men -75 kg bodybuilding and men's fitness physique) of Royal Gym-Ningomthong; Engudam Kavita Chanu (women's +55 kg bodybuilding) of Friend Fitness Gym; Joyjeet Waikhom (men's athletics physique) of Royal Gym, Ningomthong and RK Sanathoi (Men's Fitness Physique) of Sangai Gym-Khagempalli were selected for both the 56th Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championship and the 15th WBPF World Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championship, said AMBBA in a release.

Meanwhile, Kh Rishikanta (junior men -75 kg bodybuilding) of Friend Fitness Gym-Tera was selected for the Asian championship and Sakibur Yumkhaibam (junior men +75 kg bodybuilding) of 3 Brothers Gym-Porompat was selected for the World Championship, it said.

The continental event is due to be held from August 6 to 12 at Batam, Indonesia while the world championship is scheduled to be held from November 5 to 11 in Maldives.
