Soldong United Soccer : Ralruwng, Riverlane register comfortable wins to enter semis

Imphal, August 28 2019: Ralruwng blanked Kanankhu 3-0 and Riverlane brushed aside to made themselves into the last semi-finals of the 1st Soldong United 9-A Side Football Tournament which is underway at Maha Union Ground, Japhou Keithel.

Ralruwng which saw off Popem FC in their first round tie, took off the game slowly and earned a 1-0 lead in the first half with the help of Joshep's strike in the 20th minute before pumping in two more goals latter in the second half.

Henry fired home the second goal for Ralruwng in the 40th minute as Kanakhu hardly resisted and showed their intent to make their way into the game while Thumnahring rounded off the scoring in the 63rd minute of the match.

Meanwhile, Riverlane ran riot to tear apart the defence line of Sintaruwng and carve out a huge 6-2 win.

Riverland sealed a 3-1 lead in the first half before HL Angjoyhring did a commendable job to score twice in the second half and ensured Riverlane the huge win.

Riverson drew first blood early in the 4th minute and put Riverlane ahead before Bungpem doubled the lead in the 21st minute.

John of Riverlane banged in the team's third goal in the 32nd minute and the same minute saw HB Ningamhring pull back a goal for Sintaruwng and made the scoreline read 1-3 till the break.

Soon after the restart, Sintaruwng managed to grab another goal in the 36th minute through Wangpol and narrowed down the gap but the team failed to withstand Riverlane pressure as HL Angjoyhring gave them a harsh time.

Angjoyhring helped Riverlane gain complete control of the game with his first strike in the 38th minute and went on to strike another in the 49th minute to make it 5-2.Kh Angningak then wrapped up the scoring in the 72nd minute as Sintaruwng were neither able to make an attack of note nor contain the relentless Riverlane attack.
