SDO edge past SAO 3-2 in Ksh Leihao Devi Memorial Super Division League opener

Imphal, September 21 2025: Social Development Organisation (SDO), Pallel beat Sena Athletes Organisation (SAO), Kakching in five goal thriller as the 22nd Ksh Leihao Devi Memorial Super Division League kicked off at DSA Kakching playground.

SDO enjoyed a slight edge from the beginning and led the first half by 2-1 goals before coming out 3-2 winners today in the opening match of the 7-team top tier district level tournament.

The two sides started cautiously and held off one another for a major portion of the opening half until M Milanjit broke the deadlock for SAO in the 41st minute.

SDO however fought back and drew level through Arnold in the first minute of the added time before the break.

The celebration for SDO continued as Makhon completed the turn-around the very next minute to walk into the break with the 2-1 advantage.

The two sides jumped into action after the restart, with SAO searching for the equaliser and SDO looking to further extend their advantage.

SAO's effort paid off after 78 minutes as N Donald beat the SDO custodian to close the gap.

And as the game looked to end in a 2-2 draw, S Somesh scored three minutes into the stoppage time to snatch the 3-2 win for SDO.

Youth Welfare Union (YWU), Kakching will play Sugnu Football Club (SFC), Sugnu in the next match on September 24 .

The match starts at 2.45 pm .
