Imphal, February 21 2025: Irengbam Ibobi starred with both the bat and ball as NAPSA, Kha Imphal pulled off a 31-run victory against ESU, Wangkhei in a Group B match of the 12th Manipur Veteran T20 Cricket Tournament.

Opting to bat first, NAPSA gathered 168 runs for 5 wickets thanks to a half century knock from Ibobi (52 off 44 balls) and significant contributions from Somendro (38 off 35 balls), L Premananda (33 off 19 balls) and Ratan (25 not out off 10 balls).

ESU were then restricted to 137 for 8 in the chase despite S Shantikumar's fighting 57 off 48 balls with Ibobi enjoying a four wicket haul (4/19 in 4 overs) to derail the chase.

Bhogendro (1/21 in 2 overs) and Ratan (1/5 in 1 over) also aided Ibobi in hindering the ESU chase.

For ESU, Robin (2/32), Shantikumar (1/31), K Rajesh (1/35) and Boyai (1/24) were among the wickets as N Banikanta (22 off 23 balls) and L John (21 off 14 balls) did their best to keep ESU in contention during the chase.

Ibobi was eventually adjudged player of the match.

Later in a Group D match, LCCC, Lilong Chajing earned their second win by beating LCC, Lamsang by 34 runs.

LCCC piled up a commanding total of 188 runs for 8 wickets after electing to bat first and restricted LCC to 154/4 to seal the 34-run victory.

Shahjahan (47 off 36 balls), N Shibadatta (27 not out off 20 balls) and L Khaba (26 off 22 balls) led the scoring for LCCC in an innings that saw H Rajiv of LCC enjoying a four wicket haul (4/24 in 4 overs) and A Romendro (2/40) and A Dilip (2/25) sharing 4 other wickets.

In reply, Rajiv (22 off 21 balls), Dilip (40 off 31 balls) and Dutta (23 off 23 balls) gave LCC gave a good start and Y Michael (18 not out off 17 balls) and S Suresh (31 not out off 20 balls) also but in a brave effort but their efforts were not enough to change the complexion of the game.

N Shibadatta of LCCC was adjudged player of the match.
