Shillong, April 08 2018: Kangchup Road Young Physical and Sporting Association (KRYPHSA) decimated Indira Gandhi Academy for Sports and Education 10-1 in a group stage match of the second edition of the Hero Indian Women's League at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Shillong, Meghalaya today.

In another match, Eastern Sporting Union were held to a 1-1 draw by Sethu FC.

Four goals each by Ratanbala Devi and Bala Devi accompanied by a Dangmei Grace brace led KRYPHSA to an easy win in a one-sided match, which was dominated by the team from the opening minutes of the match.

In the 2nd minute itself, Dangmei Grace opened the floodgates when she found the net to give KRYPHSA the lead.

Shortly after, in the 17th minute, Bala Devi's rasping shot found the back of the net to give KRYPHSA a comfortable lead.

Two goals by Ratanbala Devi in the 35th minute and in the added extra time of the first half enabled KRYPHSA to take a comfortable lead as they led 4-0 at half-time.

The onslaught continued in the second half and Bala Devi quickly found the net in the 47th minute to make it 5-0, before Indira Gandhi Academy pulled a goal back through Pradeepa Sekar in the 63rd minute.

A flurry of goals followed thereafter.

Ratanbala Devi completed her hattrick in the 64th minute, Dangmei Grace who proved to be a menace for the opposing defence added the second goal to her tally in the 66th minute and Ratanbala Devi once again found the net in the 69th minute to make the scoreline read 8-1.Bala Devi's 73rd and 89th minute strike added more gloss to the scoreline as the full-time scoreline read 10-1 in KRYPHSA's favour.

Eastern Sporting Union hold SETHU FC Eastern Sporting Union were held to a 1-1 draw by SETHU FC in a group stage match of the second edition of the Hero Indian Women's League at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Shillong, Meghalaya today (April 08, 2018).Ranjibala Devi's early strike was cancelled out by Indumathi's 14th minute goal as both teams qualify for the semi-finals of the second edition of the Hero Indian Women's League, whilst sharing points.

Eastern Sporting Union decided to attack from the opening minutes of the match and Kamala Devi's header in the 4th minute was saved by the opposing custodian.

ESU had not to wait for long to take the lead as in the very next minute Ranjibala's magnificent attempt found the back of the net.

Ranjibala volleyed a cross from the left flank into the back of the net in the first attempt from inside the box as ESU took the lead in the 5th minute.

The lead however, did not last very long as SETHU FC equalized proceedings in the 14th minute courtesy of Indumathi's strike from between the legs of Panthoi.

The volatile opening minutes were followed by battle for possession in the midfield and both teams cancelled each other out for much of the remaining time of the first half.

Chances came for ESU but their forwards could not make the most out of it.

The half-time scoreline read 1-1.Changing over, ESU tried to adopt an attacking momentum and almost succeeded in scoring in the 48th minute when Mandakini Devi's attempt from inside the box was saved by the opposing custodian.

Shortly after, Kamala Devi burst onto goal and rounded up the goalkeeper but the referee called the play offside as ESU searched for the decisive goal.

Relying on counter-attacks SETHU FC tried to stretch ESU's defence but could not create clear goal scoring opportunities.

The full-time scoreline read 1-1 as both teams shared the spoils of battle.

Both ESU and KRYPHSA have qualified for the semi-final stage with ESU on the top of the league table with 14 points from 4 wins and 2 draws.

KRYPHSA's can toppled ESU if they register last tie victory against already eliminated Gokulam Kerala or else will finish third.
