Imphal, October 13 2026:
The Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) has categorically asked the Government of India to stop Myanmar-based terrorists from killing and terrorising bonafide Indian citizens of Manipur.
It is now a common knowledge that the Government of India, as a part of its counterinsurgency policy, has been working together with Myanmar-based terrorists to suppress the indigenous people of Manipur, COCOMI said in a press statement.
People are also witnesses to how Central security forces have been looking the other way and not taking any concrete action even as indigenous people are being butchered in the most cruel manner, their houses burnt down and their lands usurped, it said.
In their efforts to snatch land from the indigenous people and create a permanent space of their own in Manipur, illegal immigrants from Myanmar have been aiding the Government of India's counter insurgency policy and working at their best level to annihilate the indigenous people of Manipur, the committee asserted.
After signing the Suspension of Operation (SoO) agreement, the Government of India has been providing immunity to Myanmar-based armed groups.
Even as the SoO militants have been waging a war of aggression against the people of Manipur by openly violating the SoO ground rules and defying all Indian laws, the Government of India has been portraying the sustained aggression as communal violence and watching silently, it said.
It alleged that the Government of India has been arming and providing logistic support to the SoO militants and inciting them to burn down villages and butcher indigenous people in the most barbaric manner.
Central security forces who came to Manipur in the name of protecting the people have been instead protecting the Myanmar-based terrorists with love and care.
Emboldened by such treatment from the Government of India, Myanmar-based terrorists have intensified acts of cross-border terrorism.
As a result of the intensified cross-border terrorism, many villages located at border areas have vanished.
The Myanmar-based terrorists have not stopped burning down villages and killing indigenous people, COCOMI said.
In the face of this policy of the Government of India, the State Government has been acting deaf and blind., it said.
MLA Leishiyo Keishing had pointed out that the attacks at Namlee, Wanglee, Choro and Pilong were carried out by Myanmar-based KNA(B) and that it was cross-border aggression.
Regarding the Ningchou attack which took place a few days back, State Police have registered a case, categorically listing the same attack as an armed aggression carried out by Myanmar-based KNA(B) .
There was also evidence of casualties/injuries suffered by KNA(B) cadres, COCOMI said.
Given this situation, how can people trust the Assam Rifles who are entrusted to guard the international border, it said.
At the same, the Government has been hunting and targeting people who volunteered to protect their homes and villages.
If the people's anger explodes and the situation goes out of control, the incumbent double-engine Government must take sole responsibility, it added.
