Many turn out in support of MP Bimol Akoijam, denounce allegations

Kakching/Thoubal, October 14 2026: Protest demonstrations were held in Kakching and Thoubal districts today, strongly denouncing the allegations levelled against Lok Sabha MP Dr Angomcha Bimol Akoijam.

Kakching

A large riumber of residents took out a protest rally today at Wangoo in Sugnu Assembly Constituency under Kakching district against the false allegations on, MP Dr Angomcha Bimol Akoijam.

The rallyists asserted that they stand for MP Bimol and raised slogans of 'Stop Political Conspiracy, Stop Character Assasination'.

Meira Paibi Lups, civil society organisations, clubs and Youth Front of Wangoo jointly organised the protest rally.

Slogans such as, 'We condemn baseless allegations against MP Bimol', 'We denounce the act of JNU VC to dismiss MP Bimol', 'Down Down BJP' and 'We stand for MP Bimol' .

The participants of the rally expressed strong resentment over the alleged politically motivated acts to malign the image of MP Bimol who has raised Strong stands on the Manipur crisis in the Parliament.

Reacting strongly against the allegations levelled against MP Bimol, the protestors affirmed to stand for MP Bimol and to support him in all possible ways.

Thoubal

Residents of Thoubal Kshetrileikai led by Thoubal Kshetrileikai Apunba Meira Paibi Apunba Lup staged a protest demonstration today to denounce the allegations levelled against Lok Sabha MP Dr Angomcha Bimol.

Meira paibis of Thoubal Kshetrileikai offered prayers and sought blessings for the well-being of Dr Angomcha Bimol at Ebudhou Kaplangba Ema Kalika at Thoubal Kshetrileikai today afternoon.

Later, the women folk staged a protest demonstration at the gate of the sacred complex and shouted many slogans such as 'We denounce the acts of JNU VC', 'We the people of Manipur stand for Oja Bimol' and 'We condemn allegations against Oja Bimol' .

One of the protesters named Kh Amuningthou strongly denounced the allegations levelled against MP Dr Angomcha Bimol who has been raising voices for Manipur and striving selflessly for the well-being of the State.

It is really unfortunate that a selfless public leader like him has been accused of such derogatory acts, he said.

Stating that the people will stand for MP Dr Angomcha Bimol, he assured that the residents of Thoubal Kshetrileikai will always support the MP.

Expressing resentment over the alleged politically motivated attempts to tarnish the image of the MP, he appealed to all to let the Court decide the matter.
