IE 1st Divn League : PRYA win 2-0 against UPSA, ESU hold USA

Imphal, August 28 2019: PRYA, Khundrakpam thumped UPSA, Pukhao 2-0 at NESU ground, Khurai to post their second win today in the Moirangthem Ibobi Memorial First Division Football League Tournament being organised under the auspices of Imphal East District Football Association.

ESU, Wangkhei which blanked SSC, Porompat 4-0 in their previous tie were held to a 1-1 draw by USA, Khurai in another fixture of the tournament today.

PRYA scored a goal each half of the game today to earn their second win at the tournament after the team played out a 2-2 draw with CSC, Chanung in the previous fixture.

The game started with a bang as Th Amarjit found the net in the opening minute itself before the two sides engaged themselves in defending their goal-line for a major portion.

PRYA got their second and the last goal lately in the 72nd minute with N Arjun making the strike.

UPSA's Ch Roberth and NESU's Jack and N Rohit were yellow carded by the referee respectively in the 28th, 32nd and 59th minutes of the match.

Elsewhere in the next tie of the day, ESU and NESU played out a goalless first half before Gaikhanglin opened up the scoring in the 45th minute.

After exchanging few runs on both ends, Rahul of USA hit the equaliser in the 54th minute.

The two teams worked diligently to find the winner but luck favoured neither side forcing them to share the spoils.

Chingkheinganba and Th Bangkim of ESU were yellow carded by the referee in the 73rd and the 74th minutes respectively while USA's T Wilson, Jangkhanlein and K Manjit had the same in the 57th, 71st and the 76th minutes respectively.
