39th N Hazari and Dr N Tombi State Polo Tournament : MPSC-B, Tekcham PC and X-Polo Club cruise into quarterfinals

Imphal, October 26 2026: MPSC-B, Tekcham PC and X-Polo Club recorded comfortable wins to cruise into the quarterfinals of the ongoing 39th N Hazari and Dr N Tombi State Polo Tournament 2026 at Imphal Pologround.

In the first match of the day-and the tournament's second pre-quarterfinal-MPSC-B outlasted K&MM Riding School-A, Singjamei with a 15-3 victory, setting up a quarterfinal clash against Thangmeiband Youth Polo Club-A .

H Abung Khuman shone throughout the game, scoring six goals across four chukkers, while T Pradeepkumar hammered in five goals and S Abungcha added three.

Nongpoknganba also chipped in with a goal in the third chukker.

MPSC-B led the first chukker 6-2.For the Singjamei side, W Khambaton scored both of his team's opening goals in the first chukker, before teammate I Rahul scored in the second chukker to narrow the deficit to 7-3 .

MPSC-B then pumped in three goals in the third chukker before pouring in four more in the final period to seal the emphatic 15-3 win.

In the third pre-quarterfinal match staged in the second ground, Tekcham Polo Club brushed aside MPSC-C 11-1 riding on major contributions from S Naoba (4 goals), M Abhigyan (3 goals) and S Sadananda (2 goals) .

H Muhindro and M Doren also scored a goal apiece to seal the commanding win for the Tekcham Polo Club while M Devanath scored the consolation goal for MPSC-C in the second minute.

In the third match of the day and the fourth pre-quarterfinal match, X-Polo Club, Wangkhei got the better of Ibudhou Thangjing Polo Club-A, Khongman 9-2 to set up a quarterfinal date with Tekcham Polo Club.

P Ojit and P Bikash shared 7 goals in this one sided encounter to seal the easy win for the Wangkhei team as Th Jacob and Kh Yaikhomba added a goal apiece.

X-Polo Club started slowly and led the first chukker 1-0 through Bikash's fourth minute strike before Ojit scored his first two goals in the first and the sixth minutes of the second chukker to further extend the lead to 3-0 .

Bikash scored twice while Yaikhomba, Ojit and Jacob scored a goal apiece against a goal by O Lukhoi for the Khongman team to further extend the lead to 8-1 .

L Dhaneshwor pulled one more goal back for Ibudhou Thangjing Polo Club-A in the 6th minute of the final chukker before Ojit rounded off the scoring in the 7th minute to complete the 9-2 demolition job.
