4th MNCA Senior Women's One Day Trophy begins : Kalpana's unbeaten ton powers THAU to 9-wicket win over PTRC

THAU, Thangmeiband notched up a comprehensive 9-wicket win over PTRC, Patsoi Part IV in the inaugural match of the 4th MNCA Senior Women's One Day Trophy today.
As many as 7 teams are participating in this tournament organised by the Manipur Cricket Association.
Top two teams after round robin league will play for the top honour of the tournament.
Opting to bat first at THAU ground, Thangmeiband PTRC racked up a decent total of 226 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in the allotted 35 overs.
Keisham Kalpana Devi however produced a brilliant knock off 117-runs off 95 balls and remained unbeaten to steer THAU to winning 230/1 with Usham Robeni (73 off 87 balls).

PTRC had a positive start with the opening pair forging 56 run partnership before Koijam Ranjita was bowled out by Yambem Milan Chanu for 37 runs.
Chingangbam Binomala and incoming Thokchom Loidangton then took on THAU bowlers to stitch together a commendable partnership of 123 runs off 132 balls but the partnership broke with Binomala getting caught behind by THAU wicketkeeper Keisham Kalpana off the bowling of Ahongshangbam Thoithoibi.
From 179/2 in 30.2 overs, Loidangton carried forward the momentum and gathered 42 runs for the third wicket with RK Linthoingambi (20) before she was trapped lbw for the fourth wicket on 90 by Ningthoujam Monica Devi.
Laishram Linthoingambi 4 and Laitonjam Benita 1 were unbeaten as the innings came to a close at 226/4 .
In reply, THAU had a very slow start and were reduced to 8/1 in 3.4 overs with Changammayum Leithoi holing out to Koijam Ranjita off the bowling of Laitonjam Benita on 2 .
Usham Robeni and Kalpana who came in at 3 however braved the early PTRC pressure before forging the match winning 222-run partnership for the second wicket with Kalpana contributing the lion's share of 117 runs on the back of 17 fours and 1 six.
Robeni in the meantime struck as many as 10 fours to finish unbeaten on 73 off 87 balls.
Kalpana who starred with the bat to earn the huge win for THAU was adjudged player of the match.
