Women's U-23: THAU claim convincing victory

Imphal, April 05 2025:
THAU secured a commanding 7-wicket win over AKSDO in the 1st MNCA Women's U-23 One Day Trophy 2024-25 at THAU Ground on Saturday.
Opting to bat first after winning the toss, AKS-DO were bundled out for a meagre 74 in just 27.1 overs.
Their innings never gained momentum, with only Rabina Khundrakpam (18) offering brief resistance.
The THAU bowlers were relentless, led by Sophiya Chanu Naoroibam (2/5) and Creety Moirangthem (2/4), who exploited the conditions superbly.
Thoitholbi Ahongshangbam (2/11) also chipped in with crucial wickets, while AKSDO's batting was further undone by three run-outs.
In reply, THAU reached the target in just 14.5 overs, finishing at 75/3 .
Creety Moirangthem starred again, this time with the bat, smashing a brisk 25 off 25 balls, including five boundaries.
Captain Robeni Usham anchored the chase with an unbeaten 21, while Thoitholbi Ahongshangbam (16*) sealed the victory with a flurry of late boundaries.
Rabina Khundrakpam (1/18) and Thokchom Langlen Chanu (1/25) claimed a wicket apiece for AKSDO.
Despite losing their openers early, THAU dominated the match and cruised to a convincing victory.
